Save The Dredge Campaign

TANJUNG TUALANG DREDGE, the Last Tin Dredge Standing


The Tanjung Tualang Dredge (henceforth referred to as“The Dredge”) is the only tin dredge left in the country. It is located at the 5th Mile Batu Gajah – Tanjung Tualang Road, Batu Gajah, Perak and was one of Malaysia’s larger tin dredges. The Dredge was designed and built by FW Payne in 1938 in England.

The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 9 – 13 Jan 2012 (16 Jan 12)
Except for a slight drop over the weekend, the KLTM tin price continued its upward momentum throughout the week, bridging the US$19,000 per tonne and US$20,000 per tonne levels along the way.

The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 9 – 13 Jan 2012 (09 Jan 12)
The KLTM was closed on Monday in conjunction with the New Year holiday. The market made a good start into the new year when it reopened on Tuesday with the tin price settling at US$19,300 per tonne up US$300 per tonne from the previous Friday’s close.

The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 26 – 30 Dec 2011 (03 Jan 12)
The previous week’s upward momentum at the KLTM was carried over the long Christmas weekend with the tin price putting on another US$150 per tonne to settle at US$19,450 per tonne on Tuesday.
