Objectives -

11th Asia Pacific Mineral Resource Exhibition & Conference 2016


The aim of this international Exhibition and Conference is to help energise, revitalise and promote mineral resource development in the present challenging global economic headwinds.  Through this event, it is hoped that the mineral resource industry will help foresee its positive future going forward, enhance its image and dispense within its negative perception through creating an awareness that mineral resource extraction and development can be undertaken in a profitable, safe, sustainable, green and responsible manner.  Opportunity is also taken to highlight the importance of groundwater as an important supplementary source to a national water supply.

The 11th Asia-Pacific Mineral Resource Exhibition and Conference 2016 is expected to be a platform to:

  • Appraise industry players, investors and private sector organisations and corporations in the mineral resource industry of the current opportunities and facilities available with regard to capital raising and funding requirements;
  • Update participants on latest technological advances towards sustainable and green mining;
  • Highlight current government policies and legislations including positive changes towards promoting and enhancing mineral resource development;
  • Highlight success stories on the beneficial aspects of mineral resource development including various CSR undertakings;
  • Discuss the various opportunities for cooperative ventures in mineral resource trade and  investment and networking.
  • Highlight the importance of groundwater as a supplementary source to national water supply including new emerging technologies and best practices.


This event is being held back-to-back with the 16th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Minerals (ASOMM), 9th ASOMM+3 Consultations and 4th Private Sector Forum on Cooperation in Minerals in ASEAN on 8-10 November 2016. Please note that APMREC 2016 Conference participants are eligible and encouraged to attend the above 4th Private Sector Forum.

This 11th Asia-Pacific Mineral Resource Exhibition & Conference 2016 is held under the auspices of AFMA.  AFMA was formed on 19 June 1984 and its membership consists of the national mining  chambers/associations of the respective ASEAN member countries.   Its current  members comprise the Malaysian Chamber of Mines, Indonesian Mining Association, Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, Mining Industry Council of Thailand, Lao Mining Association, Cambodian Association of Mining and Exploration Companies and Myanmar Federation of Mining Association.

The objectives of AFMA, amongst others, are to foster cooperation and mutual assistance among the members, promote the dissemination and exchange of information on the mineral policies, laws and regulations of member countries. 

The AFMA Secretariat is presently hosted by MCOM, on a two-year rotational basis amongst its members. The Conference portion of this international event is organised by MCOM on behalf of AFMA .

The Exhibition portion of this event is held in conjunction with the Malaysia International Mining & Mineral Exhibition (MIMM) and is organised by One International, who is a well respected exhibition management company that has successfully held and organised several high powered heavy machineries, equipment and high technology shows and exhibitions over the years, nationally.  In this eventís partnership, One International is profiling itself to become a well known player in the scene, regionally and internationally.
