The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 14 – 18 May 2018 (21 May 2018)

Tin trading on the KLTM during the third trading week of May was on a downward momentum. The decline was in line with the movement of tin prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Tin prices softened over the weekend by US$100 per tonne to settle at US$21,050 per tonne on Monday and continued to decrease further by US$100 and US$100 per tonne to settle at US$20,950 and US$20,850 per tonne on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. They then stayed unchanged on Thursday before declining further by US$150 per tonne to close the trading week at US$20,700 per tonne on Friday.

The total volume of tin traded during the week rose to 164 tonnes, 151 tonnes higher compared to the previous week volume of 51 tonnes.
