The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 10 – 14 Sep 2018 (17 Sep 2018)

Tin trading on the KLTM during the second trading week of September were strong, in line with the upward momentum of the tin price on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

The local physical tin market was closed on Monday and Tuesday in conjunction with the Agong’s Birthday and the Awal Muharram holidays. The market reopened on Wednesday at US$18,900 per tonne, higher by US$90 per tonne compared to the previous week’s closing price. It then rose further by US$50 and US$20 per tonne to settle at US$18,950 and US$18,970 per tonne on Thursday and Friday respectively.   

 

The total volume of tin traded during the week declined to 156 tonnes, compared to the previous week volume of 245 tonnes.
