The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 7 – 11 Oct 2019 (14 Oct 2019)

Tin trading on the KLTM during the second trading week of October were mostly strong, in line with the movement of the tin price on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

 

The local physical tin market opened on Monday at US$16,300 per tonne, unchanged from the previous week’s closing price. It slid by US$150 per tonne on Tuesday to record the week’s lowest price level at US$16,150 per tonne. Thereafter, the local physical tin market rebounded by US$100, US$350 and US$101 per tonne to settle at US$16,250, US$16,600 and US$16,701 per tonne on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively, with  the Friday’s price being the highest level for the week.   

 

The total volume of tin traded during the week declined to 97 tonnes, compared to the previous week volume of 114 tonnes.
