The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 30 Dec 2019 – 3 Jan 2020 (6 Jan 2020)

Tin trading on the KLTM during the final trading week of December was mixed and was in line with the movement of tin prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Tin prices declined by US$160 per tonne over the weekend to settle at US$16,900 per tonne on Monday. They rebounded by US$250 per tonne on Tuesday to settle at US$17,150 per tonne. The local physical tin market was closed on Wednesday, in conjunction with the New Year holiday. Tin prices inched-up slightly by US$20 per tonne to settle at US$17,170 per tonne on Thursday, backed by high demand. The incline was short lived as tin prices slid by US$80 per tonne to close the trading week at US$17,090 per tonne on Friday.

The total volume of tin traded during the week declined to 65 tonnes, compared to the previous week volume of 74 tonnes.
