Kuala Lumpur Tin Market Weekly Review 03 – 07 May (10May10)
Tin prices at the KLTM continued its decline during the week.   The tin price opened almost unchanged at US$18,250 per tonne on Monday and inched up slightly to US$18,280 per tonne on Tuesday.  Thereafter prices slid continuously, falling below the US$18,000 per tonne level for the first time since March 2010 to end the week at US$17,680 per tonne on Friday.

The weak sentiment was in line with the downtrend in the price of the metal on the London Metal Exchange (LME) and was also due to retracement of gains on earlier short covering activities.

Turnover for the week was 266 tonnes, 77 tonnes less than the previous week.
